Recipe No.2 - Fruity Pink Pond

Okie, just want to share something I have made from a recipe in NTUC magazine.

The Fruity Pink Pond.

haha. Honestly, it doesn't really tastes nice. So I guess, I will skip the recipe part. I think it's because I changed the fruits to kiwi and mango. And I used too little milk to mix with the agar powder.

But I sure must say, I think it looks good enough for me. LOL. And it looks absolutely delicious on the picture of the recipe.

I'm Lovin It!

Yes, that's the tagline of MacDonald. I'm Lovin It. Lol. I really like starting to like McCafe so much nowadays, as they serve high quality stuff at a much cheaper price than I can find anywhere else. (Especially Starbucks.) It is no wonder that the emergence of McCafe killed at least half of Starbuck outlets in US.

It is reported that in the US, Starbuck outlets used to dot the streets, with 2 to 3 within one street. That's recipe for money loss, IMO. When economy is good, sure can earn. But once economy turns slightly bad, the company is going to have difficulty staying afloat, as the overheads will suddenly become more than the profits, resulting in negative turnover.

Okay, enough of lessons on the economy from me. I am not even qualified to say anything. LOL. Just reiterating the things I pick up over the years from all sorts of reports.

Yup, anyway, so what is it that I like about McCafe?

1. Definitely the drinks and food. I love the Mango Smoothie, and the Himalayan Tea Frappe is WOW! So special too. Both are $5.10. But Mango Smoothie can be bought in a smaller size at $4.30 I think.

2. The cheesecake! OMG! The cheesecake is absolutely fabulous for just $3+. I have eaten the famous, and arguably best in Singapore Hilton Hotel cheesecake before, and I say, McCafe's one is sooooooo close to Hilton Hotel! Very dense, and heavier in taste, towards the saltier side.

And I recently tried the Secret Recipe Award Winning Marble Cheesecake. It's like *EEEEK*. Want to vomit. I don't understand how that marble cheesecake won cooking award. So hard, so dry, not much taste. Eat one mouthful, don't feel like taking another.

Whereas for McCafe, I keep feel like eating and eating another bite.

3. Ambience, and convenience wins me over. =) I think McD is a very smart enterprise.

Must try McCafe cheesecake, Mango Smoothie and Himalayan Tea Frappe if you haven't, okay! hahaha. =)

School Food

I really love Japanese cuisine, and I am so happy there is reasonably good Japanese food in my school's foodcourt.

I ate the Teriyaki Chicken Don again the other day.

Teriyaki Chicken Don

The sauce tastes rich and good, neither too salty nor too sweet. =)

They give quite a lot of chicken too. And I like the shredded crabstick. (I don't eat crabstick except for this shredded one.) There is the tasty mash potato too. And miso soup. But I never finish my miso soup as I feel it is too high in MSG. LOL.

Quite a lot of ingredients given.

Enjoy the food. =) I hope I have taken good enough pictures.

The Asian Kitchen @ Republic Plaza

I think this is my second time eating from Asian Kitchen. Asian Kitchen is very well-known for their roasted duck. But only for the Raffles City branch. I have not heard good things about the other branches... haha. And yes, I really love the duck at Raffles City branch, but not at Republic Plaza.

The duck noodles, featuring the soup

The soup is nice, though I prefer stronger soups, and darker ones, like that from You Kee@Koufu. This gentle soup tastes mildly of herbs and mildly of meat. It's oily, but if you want to eat duck noodles, this is expected. My SO says it's good though, better than their homemade barley drink.

The mushroom. One piece served, and this is half of it.

This is delicious! My favourite in this bowl of noodles. Very soft, and biteable. I hate Chinese mushrooms that are cooked badly, such that it feels of rubber, and never breaks no matter how I chew. How am supposed to swallow a big piece of rubber??? But rest assured, this is good, tastes of the soup, and not bitter at all.

The noodles.

Next, I tried the noodles. The noodles ties with the mushroom for first place. Absolutely QQ, absorbs the soup very well, which explains the heavenly taste of it. I can just eat it alone without other ingredients I think, since I am a noodle-lover.

The duck meat.

I dislike this. The part that I got is rubbery, and totally not chewable at all. It was such a waste as I couldn't eat like half the meat given. My SO says his share has no problem.

And for the portion that I could eat, it was dry, which I don't like.

Softshell crabs, anyone?

The waitress told us this is the hot favourite for side dishes. I can't take seafood, so don't know about the meat. But I love the sauce!!! hehe. The sauce is spicy, yet sour sweet. I kept taking the sauce to eat with my noodles, while my SO finished the crabs.

Pork with prawn XiaoLongBao.

I can bet you there isn't one bit of prawn in there. Firstly, I couldn't feel the prawn meat (unless they mashed the meat, which they usually don't). Secondly, I did not develop and allergic reaction after swallowing the whole thing. Well, if there is prawn meat, then all I can say is, I can't feel it. So don't waste your money on the prawn ones.

The meat is good. Honestly, I haven't tasted lousy meat in xiaolongbaos before. So I think the minced meat paste must be quite easy to make.

The skin is very dry, quite thick, and stuck to my teeth. My SO said they didn't steam it soft enough. But anyway, I failed this xiaolongbao because of the dry skin.

The juice does not squirt out like all Crystal Jade ones. But the juice taste fine. Not bad. Same like most others I've eaten.

This xiaolongbao is not worth it. The one at JP foodcourt is better and cheaper.

I love this meal: 2.5 hearts.
I only like the mushroom, soup and noodles. The rest are really fail stuff.

Remember to go to Raffles City branch if you must eat this.

And IMO, the best duck rice is by You Kee@ all Koufus.

1A Crispy Curry Puff

I finally got to try this famous curry puff. I have only seen 2 outlets before, one at AMK hub basement, and another at Tampines Mall basement.

Honestly, I know this curry puff is famous because I heard that this is the brand that earns so much money, but boss report less to escape income tax. And he was jailed for this.

Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture, cos I was too hungry and busy finishing the curry puff.

But I think it is nicer than Old Chang Kee.

There is so much lesser oil. Though not as salty as Old Chang Kee's.

It is equally big, and nicer looking.

The curry is watery and flows as if you were eating curry noodles. Unlike most curry puffs that have dried curry.

I bought the normal one without chicken or egg. So that's all I can say.

I will definitely go back again to try the other flavours. =)))

Here is the website.

Wong Kok Char Chan Teng

I've always loved HK Cafe Restaurants ever since they emerged in Singapore. And my favourite is the popular Xin Wang Char Chan Teng, at Cineleisure, PS etc.

The other day, we stumbled upon another one called 旺 角 茶 餐 厅. Obvious, their hanyu pinyin is quite wrong. But nevermind. This is the website. So we decided to give it a try since I was craving for Chinese food.

The restaurant layout.

It was very empty at around 5pm. I do hope they have more customers at the 7pm meal time. Otherwise, it would be hard to maintain the rent at Bugis.

I like the clean layout, and the sofa seat is nice. As they are situated right at the bridge on the 2nd floor, I felt like I was dining in a balcony. Which is very nice.

My drink, called Cinderella.

I didn't know what's inside, but I ordered because the name Cinderella sound sweet. haha.

There are 3 san chas on top, and that black ball is a prune.

It turns out, this is actually sour plum juice. Which I don't really like. But this is okay, because they put quite a lot of sugar syrup at the bottom.

Our drinks together. My SO ordered something blue again. lol. =)

Blue Ocean, with strawberry ice-cream on top.

I was very impressed with the Blue Ocean. I love the blue, and the combination they made with the pink ice cream. On drinking, this tastes like normal soda water. But quite expected. Because from my experience with my SO, Blue Lagoon is usually soda water.

And here is my food:

Sze Chuan Style Chicken Baked Rice with Portugese sauce.

As usual, I just had to try their baked rice, as I like to compare baked rice with Swensen's. Yet as usual, the new one still lose to Swensen's. It tastes pretty normal. Not not nice. But just, normal.

I find the steam basket that it is served in very creative. They probably melted the cheese by boiling instead of the usual microwave. Even though it is called baked rice. lol.

A spoonful of Portugese sauce laden rice.

The special thing about this rice is probably the Portugese sauce, or what the waitress told us, Ang Moh Curry.

The yellowy yellowy sauce you see, is the Portugese sauce, and it tastes very, very much like egg yolk. I would bet it contain egg yolk. But I am bewildered at how they make the egg yolk taste cooked. It is absolutely not raw at all, yet it is not the hardened egg yolk we normally get.

Though it is known as Ang Moh Curry, the Portugese sauce is not spicy at all. And I like the way it is salty but not too salty.

I wish I could buy a jar of this home! Serious. So nice, I feel like eating the sauce again.

The service was okay, and the food came really, really fast. Likely because there were so few people.

But altogether, I think I like the place. And I feel like going back to try the French toast. It is a very nice spot to drop by for a French toast if you are working nearby, and need a tea break. =)

BRAND’S® InnerShine® Prune Essence

The first time I saw this new product by Brands was at the TNP New Face audition. They set up a stand besides the queuing area, and gave all contestants a voucher to buy it.

At that time, it looked really good. I was attracted to the womanly purple packaging, and almost bought it. Luckily I did not.

This second time, I got a bottle free from a copy of Cleo's August issue. My first thought was, if something is really so good, it does not have be given away free this way. LOL. Cos I was linking this giveaway to the booth at TNP New Face, and I reckoned that this must be leftovers from the other time! (This is purely a personal conjecture and impression formed from 2 separate events.)

The instructions says this can be taken at any time of the day you like, and either at room temperature or refrigerated. I left mine to chill, as I recall memories of Brands Chicken Essence.

My bottle of Brands InnerShine Prune Essence (sorry about the darkness).

Okay, I hate Brands Chicken Essence. Not that it is no good. I do not like the taste, which is somewhere between salty and bitter. eeeks. There are people who can take weird tastes like cod liver oil and Brands, and one of them is my younger brother. I salute him for that.

I am so afraid of the prune essence tasting like chicken essence. And only agreed to give it a try after I looked at the ingredients. I forgot to note it down before throwing the box, but I remember there are only about 3-4 ingredients. And the first one states "prune juice".

If the primary ingredient is pure prune juice, then it has got to taste like the Sunsweet Prunes, which I love. So it is alright.

So I tried it. Yes, it tastes alright. Exactly like Sunsweets.

Sunsweet Pitted Prunes, credits to Sunsweet website.

But what set me thinking was, the description says that this is high fibre and to help busy working women etc, etc. Yet seriously, do we really need this thing?

In my opinion, NO. A big, big NO. This is just another gimmick to make people spend money. I mean, if you are leading an okay lifestyle, with fruits (no need vege) everyday, you should be able to visit the toilet once/twice a day. Which is, according to Mind Your Body, the absolutely normal, and healthy frequency for big business. If there is no pain while doing business, your fibre intake is fine.

I even recall reading in the primary school Health Education textbook that we only need a bit of fibre each day. Not a lot. So a slice of watermelon, papaya, during each meal should be enough. In fact, fibre should not be taken in excess.

If you think Brands Prune Essence is going to help your constipation, then I will say, YES, BUT it is a waste of your hard-earned money. Talking about inducing diarrhoea, honestly, it did not even put me on a run. Sunsweet prunes does gives me the runs.

Eating prunes will get you to egest solid waste. Anybody who has eaten dried prunes by Sunsweet or any other brands before, will know that. Especially if you eat prune and drink water immediately. This is a recipe for diarrhoea (as my mother told me). I have tried and proven it. So if you are having constipation, you can try this method.

Instead of Brands, seriously, the normal Sunsweet will do. They have new antioxidant juices as well. (refer to website: here).

This world is becoming stranger to me. All the funny products emerging. The onus is us, consumers, to discern for ourselves.

Of Japanese, Chinese and Western

Of Japanese, Chinese or Western cuisine, I like them all!

I am fine with any food, expensive or cheap, as long as it tastes nice, I wouldn't say no.

Below is food from one of the restaurants in the newly opened Tampines 1 shopping mall.

This one is from Cheeze:

This is the Chicken Baked Rice, which I just had to try. See the cheese lines on top? I always make it a point to try out all baked rice, and benchmark them against Swensen's. Unfortunately for my taste buds, and fortunately for Swensen's, I still cannot find any place in Singapore that makes better baked rice than Swensen's. Hooray for the unbeatable! Yummy to Swensen's Chicken and Curry Baked Rice - Still the Best in Singapore.

And this is the Strawberry Cheesecake Yoghurt Drink from Cheeze. Looks nice right? It IS. haha, but fattening. Very. Especially after eating all the other cheesy things. Well, for us, cheese lovers, this restaurant is just the right place. There is even a cheesecake counter outside, so that busy cheese lovers can takeaway some delights.

******
And I got to go to this Japanese restaurant on another day, also at Tampines 1.

This is the front view from my seat. Not bad. The decorations gives a nostalgic village feel, which I like. I love vintage, and reminiscence.

And this is a closeup of the decorations up there. See all the pots and pans? =)

This is what I ordered. Omelette rice in two kinds of sauce. Pretty expensive considering all I get is a thin slice of egg and rice inside. No meat.

The tea is very good though. Very sweet and fragrant. $3 a cup, but worth it. Plus, I like the big surface area cup that it is being served in. This allows the tea to cool very fast for people with low patience level like me.

This is all the food that we ordered.

The dessert, fruit pie in fresh cream, is the signature item for this restaurant. We queued very long for this. And each person was limited to 2 flavours. Obviously, this is blueberry and mango pies. Nice to eat, but I feel that it's fattening. And a little expensive. Lots of people queue up just to takeaway this dessert home though.

******
Ah, haha, last but not least, from Tampines 1 - J.CO Donuts!!!
Oooo, I finally get to taste it.
The famous donuts from Indonesia.
You know, it's pretty weird. But people coming back from Indonesia tend to takeaway a box of donuts from Dunkin or J.Co. Me too did that when I went to Jakarta. Stuffed the box in the luggage compartment at the top of the plane, hoping that donuts and I land safely. lol.

The cover of the box for a dozen donuts. Yes, we bought 12 donuts at one go! hehe. Ultra fattening. But sometimes, some things are worth wasting your calories on.

It's supposedly from Thai, with Ice Thai Tea and Iced Thai flavoured donuts... Btw, Thai Tea is nice. I always must try the Thai tea at any Thai restaurant that I go into (and of course the green curry and breaded chicken wings). Anyway, the box says Jakarta, KL and Singapore. So the not all parts of Indonesia has it, and the people in M'sia get to eat it too! =)

My donuts from afar. I sneaked away two before I remembered to take pictures. :P

And my donuts closeup.
LOL. OOoo, I tell you, see the one in orangey yellow and yellow cream in the middle? That's Mango flavoured. And it's the nicest of the lot!!! I definitely will just go for it next time.

The rest are okay only, to my disappointment. See the two white powdered ones, those are icing sugar. No taste. The white one without the hole has cheese cream in the middle, which is not bad. The green tea (bottom left corner) one taste strange. The chocolate one has banana flavoured cream in the middle. Not too bad. But trust me, if you have to choose one, get the MANGO!

******
And for the last of this post, it's Chinese cuisine! Not from Tampines 1 anymore.
It's TOAST BOX @ Bugis.

We found it while we were so hungry, and couldn't find a seat in MacD. It's located behind MacD.

Look at the vintage interior. Wow, I just love it. I am really a sucker for anything vintage. I like vintage European, vintage Chinese, vintage American, vintage Thai/Indo/Bali etc.

Look at the fans. They actually have fans! (There are aircon systems at the entrances, but not as visible.) And the lamps, the window arches... I *heart* it.

This is taken from my seat, just besides the counter cum kitchen. The garnie sacks used to contain coffee beans are so unseen of in today's world. The white stand there has flower motifs as carved ins. Also, there's the tiles on the side of the counter walls.

I did a closeup of the jars of sauce on the counter.

And a closeup of the staff in front of the butter jar. Cute right, the jars.

And here comes my food! Service was a bit slow that day, as the person who toasted the bread was a trainee. And I heard the supervisor telling the trainee to redo the bread as it was not sliced properly. Wow, such high standards.

Anyway, this is Hainanese Chicken Curry. Very, very nice. And makes the $5.80 for the meal set meal worth it. The barley drink is homemade and the beans are filtered out, I like! The bread so crispy, and the curry so thick and flavoured. I would say, quite a lot of coconut milk. But I like. They give 3 chicken wing halves, 2 potatoes and 2 tau pok. Very filling for me. =))) I just love it!

So this is all for my long, foodie post. tata.

New Year Day

We ordered delivery from Pizza Hut as both of us needed to rest after the long day out yesterday.

Also, Pizza Hut has something new called the Variety Meal Box $19.90.

Ta daa! See below.

Looks so yummy right. Looking at this picture, my mouth is watering again. But my love will never agree to having the same food twice in a row.

We had 2 curry chicken pan pizzas from the choice of pizza. We add on 2 curry chicken baked rice for dinner as well.

the pizza had a lot of onions, which I don't like. But basically, it's like normal eating at pizza hut. the chicken wings are yummy as usual. What surprised me was the hash brown. When i opened, the box, i was delighted, like a child, to see the star shape little things. Oh so cute!

And I love the fresh hand made tomato sauce served as well. I think it's for the Breadstix.

For the price, not bad. Considering, I totally love Western and pizzaz and pastas for a meal. hahaha. my love knows me so well. managed to get food that I like.

okay, I shall not rate this separately, just an overall rating - 4 stars. for the convenience and price, can try. =)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So that's my food for the day.

Now it's product time again!!!

*drumroll* excitedness.

Sephora Brand Mint Body Wash $12 or 150ml
Bought from Sephora, Takashimaya B1

The mint smell is strong and sweet while you are soaping.
The colour is exactly the same as the bottle.
So if you love pink, you can choose a shade of pink and apply it all over your body everyday! woohoo!

It's totally not soapy, but spreads very well - the mark of quality bath soap.
The coolness only kicks in after you have washed off, leaving your body cool and refreshing.
However, there doesn't seems to be much properties from the ingredients. Plus, there's lots of colouring as they have to make it the same colour as the packing.

Basically, unlike bodyshop products, that normally have some sort of treatment properties, this is more for the colour fun, brightening up your day, and basic cleansing and hygiene.

Use: 4.5 stars
Price: 3 stars (still affordable)

Overall I like it: 3.5 stars

Next: Bodyshop

White Musk® Sumptuous Silk Shower Gel

okay, very fragrant during soaping. Nice after shower feel. Totally transparent colour. Non-soapy and spreads very well.

I got my bottle free... so can't rate.

Overal feel: 3.9 stars.
this really makes me realise why people love body shop so much, and can become fans of it, having the whole bathroom crowded with body shop products. it's really good, but judging for average price of body shop products, I don't think this is for the ordinary people to use everyday. A slight luxury, just like Sephora. But still affordable if you really love it.

Last for the day:

Dove Hair Mask straight & silky.

Sticky, not easy to spread. Had to scoop a whole palmful to do up my hair, whereas, I use just a 5-finger pinch for my Mineral Mud Hair Mask. Only time it ever felt smooth was when I use water to start flushing it away. After thorough wash, I felt no difference at all. When my hair dried, it was still dry and frizzy, with no feel-able difference at all. I felt it was a total waste of $$. Don't buy if you don't want to regret.

Overall I like it: 0 stars.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
okay, this is like my worst review for any product so far. I can't believe I can actually give 0 stars for something, because I am a very lenient, and very easily satisfied customer. Just give me something good, with quality that really does what you say on the packing, and I will rate well.

Oh well, nevermind. Now I just hope to use it up quickly, and use the container for stirring my powder self-prepared facial mask.

Going out for dinner. tata. =)

My most memorable New Year 2009

I left the previous post saying I would go for bbq@chalet right? yup, I did.

But it turned out kind of bad, yet good. Why do I say so?

My love only worked half day on New Year's eve (NYE), so I went over to his house to wait for him after my previous entry. It was already quite late. So by the time we get to the chalet, it was already 10pm.

As you can guess, the food is out. Some things happened, and we got upset with each other.

But anyway, we went to find food. Because, differences aside, we both so god d@mn hungry. Imagine me having only eaten a packet of chicken rice at 10am, waiting 12 whole hungry hours for a nice meal. End up, no bbq food. **FYI, I love bbq chicken wings, hotdogs, and MaRsHmAlLoWs** How disappointed I was. Plus, I miss Xmas bbq too. So super duper looking forward to this one... But...

ok, nevermind. Because my love was kind enough to cool down quicker than me, and waited for my steam to blow off, I shall not rant so much.

So we walked, and we walked... there was a pond... there were many bicycles who do not give way to pedestrians (though I know it's their right of way on the bicycle path, but, we were only occupying the borders of the path...)... then... there was... LIGHT! Omg, lights. It was so dramatic. Like those story books and manga, where the protagonist saw light at the end of the tunnel. Okay, I know there's no tunnel. But it's the end!

Why? Because there was a long long stretch of seafood restaurants beckoning our oh-so-hungry tummies. To be honest, I was a bit disappointed because I am allergic to seafood. So seafood = no food for me. But my love assured me that they sell other dishes. So we sat down at Long Beach Seafood Restaurant. My love says it's very famous.

**pictures to be posted later.

We ordered Jin Mu Lu - a kind of fish (don't ask me what's the English name, I don't know), Lemon Chicken, Gong Bao deer meat (yes, there is deer meat in SG), Sambal KangKong, mango Pudding, Home-brewed Ice Lemon Tea and 2 bowls of plain rice. - Not sure of the price as my love paid for it.

It was sooooo nice. I can swear, I don't say it's nice because I was hungry. Hmmm, let me describe each dish separately.

I tried the deer meat first, because I have never eaten deer meat before. the dish looks okay, like normal gong bao chicken, with the dark sauce and a lot of cut chili and the cashew nuts on top. Looking for the meat was really like digging for treasure. Is that why it's called Gong Bao??? I don't know, but nevermind. YUMMY. The meat is so soft, defnitely better than chicken. The sauce is nice. Heavenly. 5 stars for this one.

Then my love cut the fish meat for me. WOW, so soft too. Cooked very well. Looks nice too, because is a whole fish caught live and cooked fresh. Enjoymentz right. =) 5 stars too.

Lemon chicken skin tasted slightly strange, like cardboard box... but the lemon sauce is simply fantastic. So thick, so much flavour, so generous. 4.8 stars.

then the home-brewed - very special. Nothing similar to what I have tasted in other restaurants. More to the sour side instead of the traditional sweeter lemon tea served elsewhere. But just nice **I am afraid of sourness, but the drink for nice to me**.

They even served free flow pot of chinese tea, that my love says it's ooloong tea. Really nice too. But it kind of got bitter towards the end, because we left the tea leaves too long in the pot.

then there was the lemon water for washing hands. It's been a decade since I've been to somewhere that serves water for washing hands...

next up, is our dessert. not the traditional kind that you can find in supermarkets. more milky. appearence is 5 stars **because we ordered it when we saw it being served to other customers, you know, the cliche "I'll have what he's having" scenario. This is not my favourite. 3 stars overall.

Service was not so good initially. But after they have taken your order and know of your existence, it's so much better. so 4 stars for service.
Btw, most of the waiters are from China I think. the female ones and older ones are Singaporean.
**nothing against them, just a comment as I have a bad habit of guessing which country the waiter is from. haha. I have met myanmar ones before. =)**

And the wonderful sea view with never-ending horizon is excellant. plus the coolness of the night and flair from ships at the point of 00:00:00 jan 1, 2009. Perfect. So romantic.

okay, now for the summary review:

Name: Long Beach Seafood Restaurant.
Service: 4 stars
Main course: 5 stars
Dessert: 3 stars
Utensils etc: 4 stars
Ambience: 5 stars
Price: 4 stars

Overall, 4.16 stars for a total of 6 categories.
I really want to comment of this... the rating is a bit low because there was a food we ordered, that I didn't like. But my personal impression of Long Beach is really good, 4.8/5 stars, and a definite must go. At least once in your lifetime.

This is really the most unforgettable countdown I have in 21 years of life. We actually finished eating and paying the bill a few minutes before midnight. Then sat there to wait for countdown while enjoying the atmosphere. exactly the kind of feel i would like to have with my love. Love you.

Coffee & Toast

I was so hungry today that I tried Coffee & Toast.
Went to collect the Sasha Bear that my love won from OCBC, at Suntec.
I woke up so late, I just skipped lunch, prepared myself, and left home.
I've always thought that eating toast and tea outside of home is totally not worth it.
But today, I was alone, and I don't want to eat good food alone, also lazy to find a foodcourt, so I just thought, buy some bread from BreadTalk, and that's my lunch. But then, BreadTalk got no seats, then along the way to MRT from citylink mall, I saw
Coffee & Toast! Looks good as there were lots of people. So I sat down to try. Luckily there was one last table for me. hehehe.
4.5 stars =)))
The half boiled egg is cooked hard enough, yet the yolk still flows. Definitely better than what I can do at home. Normally half boiled eggs sold outside are too uncooked.
The croissant toast ham & cheese is so nice. How do they melt the cheese so nicely???
Plus the tea, is not 3 in 1.
Egg and tea are immediate serving. And just when I finish the egg, they serve the bread to my table. The tea is hot, but drinkable immediately. I hate waiting too long for tea to cool, sometimes I am so thirsty, it burns my tongue.
The croissant was a bit hot though, and not fully properly cut into half. I had to touch the hot bread to tear it apart. But I am glad they actually cut it in half, so it's easier to hold and eat.
Set D --> 2 eggs, 1 croissant ham & cheese, 1 local drnk @ $4.20 = WU HUA =)))
it was filling surprisingly.
but the space outside was a bit packed, seats pretty close to each other, not much walking space.
so yup, 4.5 stars! Much better than yakun (long waiting time) and Ah Mei cafe, expensice.

Slimming

I really must put up my pics for this. Guess what my weight is last time?

haha, below is what I did to slim down:

1. Be disciplined.
2. Have a goal/dream in mind for motivation.
3. Strictly no snacks. Fruits and vegetables are ok. But in my opinion, I don't snack because I want to kick the HABIT of munching between meals. So nothing, strictly nothing but 2/3 meals.
4. Eat only half portion for all meals, including breakfast. (unless your breakfast is already very little, like 2 pieces of bread ok.)
5. No fatty/oily food. Steam, boiled etc.
6. Strictly NO SUGAR. Not even teh ni. No can drinks, fizzy drinks. Nothing but plain water.
7. Exercise at least 2 times a week. Exercise = repeatedly doing the same work with the same big muscle consecutively for 20 min. Jogging is the fastest. Think PE...
8. What Mind Your Body says... : eat carbo (half portion) (rice, potato, bread, biscuit etc) when your tummy growls. You brain is craving for carbo. Eat to get the full feeling, so you wouldn't eat some more. No point eating all chicken, egg, fruit, salad... I can vouch for this. Eating yoghurt etc doesnt makes you full. End up you will eat even more calories then you plan to.

*caution* the part that you treasure most - your breast will down size around half also. I don't know how to keep that. Anyone knows please comment. =) thanks =)

*note* do run, cos the fats in the thighs are hard to shed. you don't want to have unproportionate body.

remember -> slimming is about being disciplined, discipline is about repeatedly doing the small little things that you HATE most part of your life.
Always remember -> beauty queen said before, her favourite food is chocolate, but she has not eaten it for 5 years.

disclaimer:
- thin not equal beautiful

Introduction

Hi, I am Joanne, currently doing Industrial Attachment for my 3rd Year Materials Science & Engineering course at NTU.

A certain group of friends have been calling me Auntie for 1 year plus. And I think the reason is mainly because I am a sup-until-all-the-lobang-finish queen. Genting trip, Taichung trip, Jakarta, loots from facial aunty, and my stunning shopping pattern... Also, I carry around a Doraemon bag, and I act and give very mummy advice.

I will start of with a few small tips for looking good.

1. If you don't have really slim thighs, like I do, wear your skirt at about 1 to 1.5 plams away from your knee caps. It flatters your legs better. Look out for this when you are purchasing dresses/skirts online too.=) [I don't have long legs, so I avoid wearing knee length or longer clothes too. That means my dress/skirt length is actually very limited]

2. Bundle up long hair if it gets messy (then nobody will know. hehe) I do this halfway through the day, as my rebond has worn out, and my hair curls and gets messy in the dry air-con room. (Or else I get friends telling me my hair is messy!)

3. Put your bottle of water besides the PC if you have a desk job like mine. Only then you will remember to reach for it frequently. (I am a water bucket, so I finish a bottle in an hour.)

4. The contrary holds! Never ever put junk food by your desk. Over-eating unhealthy food tends to makes your skin oily, and foster pimple growth. It builts up the tummy, and fats around the body too.

Signing off... ...! Will update whenever I think of or come across something.
